At MISFITZMAG, we believe everyone has a story worth telling. Before submitting your story, artwork, photography, or other content, please read the following terms.

By submitting content to MISFITZMAG, you agree to the terms below:

Your Submission:

By submitting content to MISFITZMAG, you confirm that:

  • You created the submission yourself, or you have the legal right and permission to submit it.

  • Your submission does not knowingly violate another person's copyright, trademark, privacy rights, or other legal rights.

  • Any photos, artwork, videos, or other media included are owned by you or used with permission.

Publication

Submitting content does not guarantee publication.

MISFITZMAG reviews every submission individually and reserves the right to decline any submission for any reason.

Editorial Rights

If your submission is selected, you grant MISFITZMAG permission to:

  • Publish your submission on our website

  • Publish your submission in our digital or print magazine

  • Feature your submission in newsletters

  • Share your submission on social media

  • Use your submission in promotional materials related to MISFITZMAG

We may edit submissions for:

  • Grammar

  • Spelling

  • Formatting

  • Length

  • Clarity

while preserving the original meaning and intent whenever reasonably possible.

Ownership

You retain ownership of your original work.

By submitting your content, you grant MISFITZMAG a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to publish, display, reproduce, distribute, and promote your submission in connection with MISFITZMAG.

Because this license is non-exclusive, you are free to publish or share your work elsewhere unless we mutually agree otherwise.

Compensation:

Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, submissions are considered voluntary and will not be financially compensated.

If MISFITZMAG wishes to commission additional work or offer payment for a specific submission, we will contact you directly.

Anonymous Submissions:

If you choose to publish anonymously, MISFITZMAG will make reasonable efforts to protect your identity.

However, please avoid including identifying information within the body of your submission if you wish to remain anonymous.

Removal Requests

If you later wish to request that your published submission be removed, please contact us.

While we cannot guarantee removal from all previously published materials or archived content, we will review all requests in good faith.

Community Standards

MISFITZMAG reserves the right to reject submissions containing content that is:

  • Unlawfully defamatory

  • Fraudulent or intentionally misleading

  • Hate speech directed toward protected groups

  • Illegal content

  • Material that infringes upon another person's rights

We welcome difficult conversations, controversial opinions, and honest storytelling, but we also strive to maintain a respectful community.

Unless otherwise agreed to in writing prior to publication, submissions to MISFITZMAG are unpaid.
